This petition opposes the current proposal from the Commonwealth Minister for Climate Change and Energy to create a designated area in Australian Commonwealth waters in the Southern Ocean off the coast Port MacDonnell, South Australia for renewable energy projects, such as offshore wind. This proposal will have a detrimental effect on industry, environment and community.
We therefore ask the House to reject any proposal to create a designated area or to allow wind turbines to be installed off the coast Port MacDonnell, South Australia for renewable energy projects, such as offshore wind.
